US Economic News Up-Date

The government shutdown at least
temporarily ended today after passage by the Senate and House of a temporary
budget and lift to the debt ceiling. According to the White House, President
Obama signed the legislation just after midnight, allowing government workers
to return to their jobs. But the measure is temporary. The budget runs through
January 15, 2014 and the debt ceiling is suspended through February 7, 2014.
